Welllllp it’s happening – I’m (finally) starting my BLOG! For years now I’ve dreamed of having a “home” where all of my recipes and ideas could live. Not on the “borrowed land” that is social media – but my own space that I can fully curate for all that are interested in baking, creating, momming and loving on their families. Social media is so wonderful in so many ways – it’s been great for exercising my creativity, the connections I’ve made, the ability to learn SO much throughout the years, the growth of my business, the list goes on. But what it doesn’t offer is any stability or long term sustainability (in my opinion). To work so very hard on these ideas – the process of recipe development/content creation is way more time consuming than most realize (and might be worthy of its own blog post all together!) with no certainty if my community will even see it honestly is a bit defeating.
More than that, social media feels like a space where people are fighting for your attention and it can feel pretty exhausting. I know I’m not alone when I say sometimes scrolling through my feed can feel like an incredibly overstimulating, loud experience where it feels like you’re being tugged in a million directions. It’s just A LOT – as the creator and the consumer. I’m craving a little bit of a slowdown and I have the feeling other people in my community could be craving that as well.
This website and blog allows me to serve you on such a deeper level. It gives me a platform to thoughtfully share recipes and ideas with my community, and not in the form of that catchy 7 second tutorial on IG but in a way that actually adds value. A place you can visit and revisit and have a more personal experience with me, my life and my ideas. And can I be really honest with you? The ones that care enough to navigate over to my website and consume my ideas here (and read this long winded post) YOU are the ones I want to build a relationship with and serve long term. My goal is to connect here in a much more meaningful way and I’m A-ok if that means less people consuming the content.
If you are here and you made it to the end of this post – HI! I appreciate you, I’m SO happy you’re here and I look forward to going on building this closer relationship with you. I want this space to feel like a hang out with a friend and somewhere we get to know each other more. I care about you and this community so much and I’m so excited for this next chapter together.
Until next time!
Jamie
