Grinch Cookies

These soft and chewy Grinch cookies are the perfect festive treat, bright green, sprinkled with sugar, and topped with a sweet little heart.

Ingredients

  • 1 Stick Unsalted Butter Melted
  • 1 Cup Sugar 3/4 cup for cookie dough and 1/4 cup for rolling before baking
  • 2 Egg Yolks
  • 2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Green Food Coloring I use 10 drops, but you can add to achieve the shade you like. Keep in mind that your dough will lighten in color once you add your flour, so go in a little darker than you want your cookies to bake
  • 1 1/4 Cup Flour
  • 3/4 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • Big Heart Sprinkles

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix together melted butter and 3/4 cup sugar.
  • Mix in egg yolks, vanilla extract, and food coloring to achieve your desired Grinch green.
  • Gently stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
  • Scoop out about 1.5 tablespoon portions of dough and roll into balls.
  • Roll cookie dough balls in remaining 1/4 cup sugar, then place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 9-10 minutes until the middle of the cookies look crackly and done.
  • Remove from oven and while cookies are still warm, press in your heart sprinkles.
  • Allow to cool and enjoy!
