3 of my favorite caramel apple desserts for the fall season! All of them are easy to make and bursting with the flavors of Fall. Keep in mind, desserts with apples are best made and served fresh. In order to prevent quick apple browning, I do a cup of cold water mixed with a pinch of salt and let the apples soak and that works really well and doesn’t change the taste of the apples! It prolongs the browning process but I’d still suggest making and enjoying these the same day
🍏 Caramel Apple Cracker Bites
INGREDIENTS:
– 12 Round Crackers
– 1 c Melted Chocolate (I used milk chocolate)
– 12 Pretzel Twists
– 12-15 Caramel Squares (make into caramel sauce by unwrapping and melting them down in a sauce pan with 1.5 tbsp of water – stir constantly until smooth)
– 2 Granny Smith Apple, Chopped
INSTRUCTIONS:
– Place silicone mold on top of small baking sheet.
– In mold, place round crackers in the bottom of the cavities.
– On top of cracker, spoon a thin layer of melted chocolate so that the cracker is covered.
– Top chocolate with pretzel twists
– Spoon caramel on top of pretzels creating one even layer. As much or as little caramel as you’d like!
– Top with chopped apples.
– Place mold into the fridge to set up – approximately 30 minutes.
– Pop out of the mold and enjoy!
🍏 Caramel Apple Bites
– Preheat the oven to 275 degrees.
– On a baking sheet (line with parchment paper for easy clean up!) spread out your pretzels – I used circle pretzels but any shape would work fine.
– On top of your pretzels, place unwrapped caramel candies and pop into the oven for 6-7 minutes so that caramels can soften
– While your pretzel bites are in the oven, chop up your apples into ~1” pieces and set aside.
– Remove your bites from the oven and press an apple piece on top of caramel squares, squishing the candy down.
– This step is optional but drizzling a little chocolate on top of the apples is so yummy!
– Insert toothpicks in the top of caramel apple bites for an easy way to serve and enjoy.
🍏 Caramel Apple “Pizza”
INGREDIENTS:
– Sugar Cookie Dough (I used 2/3 of the store-bought Pillsbury dough)
– 1 c Melted Chocolate
– 20 Caramel Squares (make into caramel sauce by unwrapping and melting them down in a sauce pan with 2 tbsp of water – stir constantly until smooth)
– 2 Whole Apples, Chopped (I used 1 honey crisp and 1 Granny Smith. Keep in mind apples will slowly start browning once they are chopped so wait to chop the apples until you are ready to use on your pizza)
INSTRUCTIONS:
– Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
– Spray 9” cake pan with baking spray.
– Press sugar cookie dough into the bottom of the cake pan creating one even layer.
– Bake for approximately 17 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
– Remove the cookie from the pan and allow to cool completely.
– Spread an even layer of the melted chocolate on top of the cooled cookie pizza.
– On top of the chocolate, add a layer of caramel sauce.
– Top the caramel sauce with chopped apples, as many or as few as you’d like.
– Optional: drizzle on top any left over chocolate and/or caramel sauce.
– Serve and enjoy immediately!
